Locked into the dilemma of unsustainable

Inasmuch as CATTCC argues against the unintended conformity and patterns of status-quo conditioning, there is relevance in some legislative intent. The ‘greening’ of urban growth has a valid base for environmental concern.

Identity of the core issue to unsustainability: is the automobile. A wider scope recognizes that it’s current transportation. Being precise to specifics shows that society’s main source of its unsustainable nature in transportation is massive inefficiency.

The continual increase of automobile use is unsustainable. As automobile use numbers escalate, its negative effects are magnified. Transportation is the foundation to urban growth. Building an entire culture on an unsustainable foundation is problematic.

To exacerbate issues relating to unsustainable, one of the problems in obfuscating words of a language; it produces ambiguous and misleading interpretations. So it is with the word: “green”. The word has created divisive invocation; validating selective hatred towards personal grievances. Personal choices are irrelevant to certain environmental impacts.

Another example: the term “climate change”. Legislative laws banning the use of a plastic grocery bags and plastic straws are somehow construed to cause weather change. A plastic bag has no bearing on the unsustainably of transportation.

Personal choices are like favorite colors. Can a favorite color be mandated? Or, can a taste bud choice for a favorite food be demanded? It’s a preposterous dictate from a tyrannicalsaurus. 

But, there’s more to transportation, it’s what transportation spawns.

Society recognizes the problem: find the solution

The solution is clear. It is clear to anyone; even to the legislators who have obfuscated the word ‘green’. The solution is easy to point out: replace the primary sources of transportation. An actual replacement to a more efficient source of transportation doesn’t exist yet.

The primary source of Western Society is the automobile. Cars are wholly unsustainable; environmentally, economically and socially. Paving roads, sidewalks, driveways and parking lots cause significant environmental damage. Changing a car’s motor from gas to electric does not eliminate the car from being unsustainable.

The solution from an in-depth study shows that the solution to provide an efficient source of transportation: floats. Floating is wholly different than flying. Floatation doesn’t create friction. This study is an analysis in physics. Friction is resistance. Friction is what stops motion.

Identifying the transportation solution means that a transportation vehicle is energy efficient. Bye-bye automobile, bye-bye buses, rockets and jet planes. What do we welcome in as their replacements? Oh, well that doesn’t quite exist yet.

As long as there are no transportation alternatives, the attributes to unsustainability remain. And, incidentally, any legislators pushing ‘green’ penalties are wearing invisible dunce caps.

But, notice one thing in particular; when searching for 'sustainable transportation alternatives from the automobile', most of the sites include the automobile with different motors. This is somehow accepted as an alternative.

According to the original Brundtland documentation identifying the meaning of unsustainable, the term specifies three parts: environmental, economic, and social. The automobile is unsustainable: environmentally, economically, and socially. In all these government and academic links to identify sustainable transportation, they reference continuation automobile usage with a different motor as a power source. This totally invalidates every government and educational link as a contradiction. Roads make automobiles unsustainable; environmentally. Vehicle cost, insurance and wrecks help to ensure economic unsustainability. And, the automobile will never provide social interaction. 

The automobile is unsustainable. Its replacement is the only solution. Discovering a new mode of transportation is imperative. What does this entail? A change of perspective is necessary. Pursuing a course for research that excludes current transportation methodologies. It means: no cars, no buses, no planes, or rockets. This search in research is CATTCC’s purpose.

Transportation is more than a single issue. Transportation encompasses the foundation to society and its corresponding culture. Urban growth is dependent upon its source of transportation.

What make urban growth sustainable?

Prerequisites for Sustainable Development

There are three key design components that should be included with every living unit in a residential development:

• Is in sync with nature
• Provides an edible garden porch
• Features individual yard privacy   

As civilization advances, there are two corresponding actions. First; modernization tends to remove nature from human life. Modernization implements chemical alterations into every part of a person’s life and removes elements of nature. Secondly, is the knowledge gained from advantageous modernization. This includes air ionization to filtration into the air we breathe. It’s also being able to apply wisdom in common sense applications into Feng Shui design for living spaces. This includes aspects of understanding to copying nature and replace segments of nature that were removed.

Understanding and copying nature from a physics perspective involves consideration at a subatomic level. Nature is simplistic. Plants grow in dirt with water and sunlight. In as much as plants thrive in nature, so do humans. Removing dirt from human contact requires a replacement of mineral content through other means. The molecular balance of positively and negatively charged particles provides a healthy interaction with nature. The simplicity of walking barefoot on grass or dirt is now considered a calming event and called grounding. This simplistic natural act is a prerequisite to sustainability.

Other components which should be implemented include sound and visual attributes.

Visually, the design of flat walls delivers a subconscious visualization of institutionalization. A home is personalized. Adding landscape designs with the protective attributes of razor-wire endowed chain link fences to a living space, provides the visual hostility of a war zone and a sense of incarceration. This environment is detrimental to a healthy living space.

Eclectic design reflects individualization.

Resolving sound intrusion

Sound intrusion is a disturbance into one’s living space is an unsustainable nuisance. This is also known as sound pollution. In building multistory residential units, the walls and ceiling need z-bar metal studs for sound proofing. The metal z-bar accommodates a double layer of sheetrock in the ceiling with z-bar between the two layers of sheetrock. This creates a sound cushion barrier, eliminating thumping noise from above tenants and creates a closed space of sound for residents. Sound travels by vibration. Sheetrock is normally attached by screws or nails into studs. Sound is amplified in the vibration of a sheetrock wall and translated by the screws into the studs which carry this vibration. The same action takes place in ceiling joists carrying sheetrock, attached by nails or screws. The application of z-bar and air space between the two layers of sheetrock provides an adequate allowance for sound separation and privacy, a necessary component for livability of vertical residential dwellings. 

Social sustainability

Lifestyle is based on individuality, and in a sustainable living environment, it is a prerogative choice to the individual. This is synonymous to a person’s favorite color; there can be no argument made against a favorite color being wrong. Additionally, lifestyle is relative to smoking cigarettes; the people who smoke enjoy it. In a sustainable environment, allotment for philosophy extends deeper into planning design accommodation for a free society.

In the USA, religious freedom was originally based on Christian principles. For the sake of preserving these principles, legislators were not required to adhere to this theological criterion. Without understanding, arrogance through ignorance reflects as inability in leadership. Those without understanding have little comprehension of philosophical or theological concepts, and often reject its premise with contempt. Addressing and overcoming these aspects of social interaction are a very important development design in building communities.

Spatial design with the Fung Shui concept is an example of efficient building design.

With respect to environmental design, when parameters are assigned by dictate of tyranny in socialist or communist government, the living environment is selected by authoritarianism, and not by freedom of individual choice. Individual choice is a privilege allocated by sacrifice and maintained by dedication. Lifestyle design has two alternatives, confinement or choice.
