Who decides who goes

An important question accompanying the effort in discovering new technology for space flight has to do with the people involved. Those chosen to travel into space will represent the human race. Such representation is a decision that should be in the hands of the people who are able to build the space vehicles that are able to travel into space. Governments represent bureaucracy. The rules and regulations of bureaucracies represent political procedure, however, is it an honest representation of humanity?

An individual capable of building a space vehicle is certainly capable of representing the best of human achievement. An ultimate qualification.

Beyond the borders of Earth lies a new realm of philosophical theology

Within the parameters of this consideration is a deep philosophical and theological consideration. Is it valid to provide mankind a means to enter space? Whose decision is it to make? What are the parameters and conditions that allow humans to expose their ways into other territories? Can a valid methodology that allows easy and convenient space travel be a good thing or a bad thing? This is a good question when asking on a religious basis. Entering space exercises the aspects of multi-dimensional existence.

When an individual figures out how to fly in space, it’s due to their innovative genius. When a government mandate pursues this endeavor, is it the same? The pause for concern is in regards to the possibility of intelligent extraterrestrial beings. Is it necessary for one person’s desires to be carried forward and another person’s characteristics; their desires ignored? Is it the government’s obligation to favor one person over another?

People assume positions of power with intent to rule over other people. Governments are not immune to corruption and doing so shows favoritism to dishonest and criminal activities. Is it just for lobbyists to represent what favors an opposing view to what may be favorable to all other people? When dishonesty is practiced by the majority, does that enable it as honest?

The purpose of this conversation is to make a point. What standard is used for separating philosophies? Since there is no morality without Godly standards, immoral activity is justifiable for the immoral, just as much as those who ardently follow Godly virtues. In a close living environment, it would be unwise to place opposing philosophies together without full agreement.

Is it important for mankind to carry sin and spread it throughout the universe? The mere mentioning of the word “sin” represents a negative attitude for those who do not prescribe to Biblical belief. This makes the point of the question.

Poison is kept isolated.

Perspective is an opinion

Galatians 5:19-21 is very clear. “When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.”

To a believing Christian astronaut, maintaining this perspective is an important issue. For a non-Christian astronaut, the scripture in Galatians is an irrelevant precept. These writings are to address important transportation related issues; the intent is an observation: pointing out the importance of personal attitudes and perspectives be surrounded by like perspectives.

Is it important that space flight mission parameters include theological and philosophical merits for each of the astronauts? In a closed environment for a long term, people’s philosophies and theological ideologies should necessitate similarity.

People on a long-term space flight will be much different than players of a sports team. Their personal actions require partnerships and understanding. The environment of deep space and the absence of Earth will attract thoughts beyond the scope of physical actions and stimulate mental imaginings. The nature of human life will invite spiritual awareness. Exploring this realm will facilitate internal philosophical and theological understanding. The isolation of deep space should stimulate thoughts of life and the possibility death. How could such thoughts be avoided? There are more unknown scenarios in space than known.

NASA’s first requirement for anyone entering into the government astronaut program is similar to a management position for any bureaucracy. It requires a 4-year college degree which proves an ability for compliance.

So, who will decide who goes into space? Like many other opportunities: desire.
