Measuring sustainability standards
By futuretransit 04 Feb, 2024
How realistic is it to implement sustainability? The connection to sustainability is its land-use. There are four types of land-use: nature, agriculture, transit oriented, and automobile centric land-use design. Of these four types of land-use, the automobile centric design is based upon a wholly unsustainable foundation: the automobile. There is nothing about the automobile that is sustainable.

Cars are unsustainable. All urban growth is based on its source of transportation. With only four types of land-use, Western Society’s transportation is restricted to cars for the automobile centric land-use design, and public transit for transit-oriented land-use. Removing cars from the automobile centric land-use design will cause all the automobile centric land-use development to become dysfunctional land-use. Essentially, this confirms that having no current alternative to the car produces a problematic situation

The biggest concern regarding the current transportation dilemma is to develop a solution, implementing the use of efficient energy use in transportation. The solution is found with finding a brand-new mode of transportation. The greatest need is discovering a superior alternative to the automobile.

The launches of current rockets are different than future technology. How long will it be until new technology is considered? A conversation about building space colonies remains less imperative than the paths for travel.
Sunset as the sun shines brighter

Much of the efforts taken to find out what is going on with the earth's climate with the wrangling of the politicos dictating to the public there is climate warming and we'll all be dead in 12 years. Of course, the time has come and passed like so many doomsday predictions. So, it is this effort taken to 'shed some light' on the subject.

The foundation to all urban growth is its primary source of transportation. The primary source of transportation in Western Society is the car. Replacing cars as society’s primary source of transportation, has to be by replacing it with a methodology that is more convenient than a car. Such methodology has to go faster, be significantly less expensive, more comfortable, safer, more efficient, and lastly; better environmentally.
sustainable land-use design and short distance transportation with levitation
By future.transit 18 Dec, 2023
Short distance travel has to account for Earth’s gravitational attraction. What methodology of motion can be used for short distance transportation? This can use a methodology of floatation. A levitating device. Maglev is currently used for levitating trains in China. Maglev requires a guideway, its use is exclusive to transit oriented land-use design. Train technology is dysfunctional in the automobile centric land-use design of Western Society. Floatation of a levitating vehicle is still viable without the necessity of a guideway infrastructure.

The basics of all urban growth is in the discovery that transportation is the foundation to urban growth. Since the development of all urban growth is based on its source of transportation, transportation is the basis of sustainability to urban growth. This understanding is vitally important to Western Society since the primary source of its transportation is automobile centric urban growth and the automobile is wholly unsustainable.
